County |
023 - Alberni-Clayoquot "...To quite honest with you, the warranty department doesn't care about the county codes either! The reason the field is required is that the Marketing department gathers and uses some of this information for their reports. Quick tip: type in the first three letters of the town name and hit F4 - if that name shows up as a county name - select it with X...if not use 998 as a misc. code for every province except Man. and Sask, (in this case use 99999). I hope this helps. Thanks, Patricia Szabo" (June/00) |
There are a few reasons why a claim will not let you create
it. Either So, the best process to go through for engines and power products is to register the unit first. If it will not register for you it could be: a) the model and/or serial number are incorrect or not precisely what the system wants to see. In this case, type in the model number in the model type field, and with the cursor still in that field-hit F4 - this will give you a box with a listing of all of the units that you are able to register. If the one you want is there, select it with an "x", and hit control - you should get a registration number. You should now be able to create a claim for this unit and sbc it with no difficulties. ie: (you may not be able to open this picture - it is a copy- print screen of the registration screen) OR b) the serial number has not been created in our system, in which case, make a call or email to me and I will have the serial number created for your dealer code - making it appear in your prompt box (the F4 box listing) - I will call or email when it is created and you can then register it, then create a claim and sbc it. OR c) we have no record of this unit's serial number and we cannot create the serial number as it was never received by KCL - Walter can usually tell right away if this serial number matches our serial sequences so either call to find this out or if it is a Worldwide Unit. If you suspect it may be WWS, try to create a claim as a "W" If it gives you no problems/message- it is not a WWS claim. If it gives you "(unit model) is not a warrantiable product" you may not have the correct model number. If it gives you " Serial number _ _ _ _ _ is not valid for product _______(unit model)" you either entered the wrong serial number or it is a worldwide service unit. In this case you can create a claim for the unit on-line as a "P"arts claim, but please indicate somewhere that it is a WWS claim. Sbc it (it does not require a registration.) If you need any help with anything, just email me or Walter and we will help you out. I hope this helps. Thanks, Patricia OBSOLETE: When it is a WWS unit, I cannot register it either (the unit has to have been invoiced by Kubota Canada in order for any registration to work). WWS claims come in on paper, and I enter them here. You can either fax it to me (fastest), or send by mail. You can still check on line to keep updated as to the claim status, etc, and we can return in on-line if we required more info. I just need to enter them from here, because there is no registration for it, and I have a track sheet going for all WWS claims. .. Pat (Oct/00) WWS claims - Nov28/00, telephone discussion with Patricia: It is not necessary to register the unit by sending faxes. After obtaining the original invoice of the unit that contains the engine serviced with the customer name and date of sale, enter the claim as a type "P". In the CCC section, include a note saying that this is a WWS type of claim, the customer name, and date of sales. In the Attachments screen, specify the model and serial number of the machine that contains the engine..dt/gjb |
