How to invoice owner's manuals

..Geoff, Sept 18/03

Traditionally we give a free owners manual with pieces of equipment. This has always been a bit of a problem to handle, because the invoice program is set up to make it difficult to give parts away (--yes, this was a problem in the distant past.) We have gotten around this by setting the prices of various owners manuals to zero in our system. However, they should have a price--because sometimes we sell them as spare parts.

The Foxpro > Invoice program now allows you to change the price on any manuals to zero as long as there is a piece of equipment sold on that same invoice. It identifies any manuals as having tariff code "490199". The tariff code is a government-assigned code used in importing and exporting to classify what exactly is crossing the border.

If you have difficulty entering a particular invoice, you can either get Daniel, Bill or myself to update the tariff code on a particular part number, or have a manager enter the invoice.
