JD usually multiple p/o's so you can skip the p/o number and just
type in account code "1330" and press "Enter". This brings up everything
on-order against account 1330.
Arrow down or page down until you find the record of the unit you
want to receive in.
Q) How do you know what record you want when there are a whole bunch
of the same model on order?
A) If Deere has sent us an "Advance Shipment Notice" has advised us
of a shipment you will see a B/L number, our account number & the 13 digit
serial number-this should match the number you are about to enter. If there is
no "Advance Shipment Notice" you need the COMAR number.
Q) Where do you get the comar number from?
A) From the status report or usually Randy can tell you.
When you have found the record you want press "Enter" and a question
will flash before your eyes: "Has this unit been received? Y/N?" answer Y and
then it defaults to serial number field. This is where you type in the 13 digit
John Deere serial number.
If the serial number starts with TO it is T for Tango O for Oscar NOT
THE ZERO!!! This is important, very important.
The six digits at the end are digits not Oh's.
Next is the location, this is important, just because we have
ordered the engine on Delta's account doesn't mean we really want it there.
Change the branch location to where the equipment is actually located.
See how this procedure works--it will be easy to update if required.
