Fax Me That Page of the Service Manual!

We are often asked by customers to photcopy and fax excerpts from service manuals. In most cases this practice is okay if the information requested is a simple setting such as valve clearances or a fastener torque.

However there are cases where we should request that the customer purchase the service manual. Such cases include:

Engine manufacturers typically devote a lot of resources to ensure that all relevant information is contained in the service manual. If we provide only a portion of the necessary information, the customer might well assume that this is all he needs to know.

In cases where it isn't practical to get the manual to the customer in a timely manner, service queries should always be directed to an experienced service department employee.
