When two or more ac generators are connected in parallel it is necessary to share the mechanical and the electrical loads evenly.

The mechanical load sharing is controlled by the engine governors. The electrical load is controlled with the aid of a current transformer that works in conjunction with the AVR(not available on a SX 460 AVR).

When the generator is paralleled to the mains; the power factor of the load can also be controlled, with the aid of a Power Factor Controller.
