Standard Extended and Standby Warranty Charges

We offer extended warranties on STAMFORD ac generators, over various periods, for most ac generator applications. For a quotation contact your local Sales or Service contact. Alternatively contact the Stamford office direct on the numbers provided below.

Extended Warranty Conditions

To enable satisfactory protection during long-term storage the following must be carried out.

1. The machine must be stored in a clean, dry, vibration free environment.
2. The machine rotor assembly must be partly rotated through 90^o periodically throughout the storage period.
3. The machine wound components must be checked periodically to ensure above minimal insulation resistance (see operation and maintenance manual).
4. The generator must be installed in a purpose built generator room, which is adequately protected from the environment.
5. The generator must be fitted with anti-condensation heaters which are operational when stationary.

The ac generator must be installed in a purpose built canopy or generator house, which is adequately protected from the environment.

The rating must be base continuous (peak standby not applicable).

Some locations, enclosures or conditions may be considered inappropriate for standby warranty and Newage reserves the right to refuse a warranty application in such cases.

For warranty extension to be considered, the application must meet our installation guidelines which are available from Newage AVK SEG's Customer Support office.

All machine windings must be insulation tested to earth with a 500v megger insulation tester (low voltage machines only).

Note A: All electronic components must be isolated before testing.

Note B: Medium voltage and high voltage machines require specific insulation tests. Please refer to operation, installation and maintenance manual (installation and re-running checks) before running the generator.

All dust/contaminates must be removed from rotating components, windings and terminal components.

Newage reserves the right to inspect the storage facility or attend pre-commission inspection at the customer’s expense.

Our standard terms and conditions apply and no consequential costs will be considered. Payment in full for this warranty will be invoiced at the same time as the generator. Late payment will render the warranty void. No refund will be given in the event of early termination of the warranty agreement by the customer.

Standby warranty is for the purpose of  mains (utility) failure purpose only and by definition implies shorter running hours.
Warranty claims are   therefore  limited to 1000 hrs per annum.

The ac generator must be fitted with anti condensation heaters which are  operational when the generator is  stationary.

Newage AVK SEG or its representatives are required to be present at commissioning to ensure that the application meets our installation guidelines. Please note that we will require 21 days notice.

Newage or its representatives will also carry out an annual visit to inspect the machine and its installation at a suitable time agreed with the customer.

Both these visits will be conducted at the customers cost at a rate determined at quotation.

Any warranty application must be submitted to the Warranty Manager at Newage International for approval. Newage reserves the right to refuse the application.
