How to call for first aid
- press the [all page]
button on any phone and page the first aid attendant to your location
- or
send a runner to find a first aid attendant and bring him to the injured
worker
- if the situation appears serious, dial 9-911 from any
telephone for medical assistance

guidelines
How the first aid attendant is to respond to a
call for first aid
- situations requiring first aid take priority over
all other work
Authority of the first aid attendant over the treatment of
injured workers and the responsibility of the employer to report injuries to
the WCB:
- the first aid attendant will treat injured workers to the best of
his/her ability, and ensure that all injuries are promptly reported to the WCB
using the proper forms
Who calls for transportation for the injured worker, and the
method of transportation and calling:
- if a situation appears serious,
anyone can call an ambulance by dialing 9-911 (Calgary, Delta, Edmonton)
or 911 (Winnipeg).
- it is better to use a landline rather than a
cellphone, so the EMS operator will automatically know the street address.

appropriate
