To dial an outside line
press 9 + the number
To answer a call
pick up a flashing line.
To put a call on hold
'park' the call by pressing one of the
"park" buttons. The call can then be picked up at any phone by pressing the
same park button.
To transfer a call
with the caller on the line, press
"Transfer", then the extension number. You can transfer the caller to the
target's voice mail by pressing the QVM (quick voice mail) button. (I have
found that sometimes you need to press this button twice.) Then hang
up.
When the voice mail is interrogating you, press [1] for yes, and [2] for no.
To set up your voice mailbox
press the "message" button on you
phone. The system will walk you through the steps needed to set up your voice
mail. You MUST set up a security code for your voicemail. Our system uses your
FIRST name for the directory.
To auto-transfer callers to voice mail if you are busy, or do not
answer your phone after 4 rings
dial 43 (you hear a fast beep-beep-beep).
Then dial 2250 (in Delta), or ???? in Calgary. Note: if you do not complete
this step, callers to your direct line will just hear ringing, and will never
be transferred to your voice mail.
To disable auto-transfer to voice mail
dial 44. Callers will
not be automatically transferred to your voice mail. They will just hear
ringing and ringing and ringing and ringing.
To pick up your voicemail when you are out of the office
for
Delta, dial 604-952-2250 + 9 + [your extension number]
for Calgary, dial
your direct line + 9 + [your extension number]
- then follow the voice
prompts
To have the voice mail system call your cellphone when you get a
message
- log into your voice mail system, wait 10-15 seconds for the
voice prompts, then press
- 7 (change setup options)
- 6 (transfer or
delivery)
- 5 (message delivery)
- 7 (spare phone)
- 4 (change phone
number - follow the prompts to enter your cellphone number--no need to put in
an extra '9' for an outside line). When finished, press [*]
- 5 (change
schedule - follow the prompts to set up a reasonable schedule. Do you want
calls transferred at 4 a.m.?)
When the voicemail system calls, it will demand to know "your personal ID". this is 9+ [your extension number]
When listening to messages
in the office, watch the messages
on the LCD screen. When there is no LCD screen, here is what the keys do:

- skip message
3 - repeat message
1 - advance to end of message
2 -
redirect (to another extension) or archive (save message)
5 - change
volume
7 - repeat previous 3 seconds
8 - pause (press 8 again to
resume)
9 - advance 3 seconds
It is not necessary to delete messages once
you have heard them. The system will delete them at midnight. You must archive
(save) it if you want to keep it longer.
